Animations » Transitions
You remember from my last tutorial, that the slides changed to fast? You couldn’t really read what it said... So, we want to slow each slide down a bit. So you click on the first slide you want to show longer. I want them all to show for at least 40 sec. Default value in am3 is 10 sec.
So, click on “Animation” in the tool bar, and choose frame properties (or click alt + enter):

Then you get this little box up:

Change the Display time from 10 to e.g. 40. You can mark all the slides you want to change the display time for. Press the shift key on the keyboard, and choose the ones you want to change. If you want one here and one there changed, you can press the ctr key and click on the slides you want to change...
Now my animation looks like this:

Fading
You might have seen a banner with blinking stars, or text fading in and out? That cool effect can be made in as3. What you have to do, is make one slide without the stars/text and one with. I will use this slide as start slide

And this one as the next

Insert the second one after the fist slide, click on the fist slide and click on Effects in the tool bar. Choose “insert image transition”:

Then choose the effect “Fade”:

You will now have a bush of slides, each slide showing the stars stronger. I got 22 slides:

And the animation looks like this:

If you want the stars to fade out again, copy the first slide (the one without the stars) and paste it in after the last slide. Then you click on the slide previous to the one you inserted, and do the same one to this, as u did to the very first (insert image transition, fade)
And the animation looks like this:

You can do the same with text. You don’t really apply the fading effect to the stars, but to the whole picture. If I chose to different pictures, the fading effect would look like this instead:

Combinations
You can combine the different effects, by clicking on the different slides, and adding transition effects to them, or making the slide show longer. I strongly advice you to try out all the transition effects at home. Your computer won’t explode, and no data will get lost. You won’t even get hacked ;)
