Ok, generally when I'm not using a white horse, I still use a white wing. So when I attach I can blend dapples without distorting the color. This is our beautiful wind, I made I large so it can support the horse:

You want the wing bone to connect to the horse's shoulder bone:

So now I've used the marquee tool. It can be located as the dashed square for Photoshop users, and layer via copied part of the horse, fading it into the front of the wing:

Less dapple details on this horse:

Here is my outcome after more layer via copying parts of the horse… It works better with a smudged horse.
