To get that cool effect that I have on the signature picture below, with all the colors grained and mixed together with the picture, just follow these few steps.
Open your picture.
Next, create a new layer, with the property of Transparency.
Then, go to Filters, and then to Render, and then to Clouds, and click on Plasma…
This box should show up. You can have whatever settings you want, I chose these because I think they go well with the picture I have chosen.
Your picture will look like this.
Next, you need to change the layer mode. Here are a few samples of what I have done with this picture.
With Divide
With Overlay
With Screen
With Dodge
