Paint Shop Pro v7 » Brushes

There are many types of brushes, like starts, glitter, sparkles, grids, butterflies and so on. So use Google to search for brushes for PSP. And I will not post any brushes on this site, as I will not post anything that isn't my creation. That is stealing, and of curse not legal. Make sure you download the brushes made for your version of PSP. I use version 7 (a pretty old version), and if you just got PSP, you probably have a newer version. As I only use v.7 I can't explain how to install brushes in newer/older versions. Many of the sites that contain brushes also explain how to install it in your version. I have made a tutorial about how to install brushes in PSP v.7. For other versions, you just have to search the net for PSP v?? (Your version) + Tutorial + "install Brushes"

Examples

Brushes, brushes and brushes. Most "extra effects" like sparkles, stars, glitter and butterflies in all sizes are just brushes, installed and used in the same way. Here are some examples:

Installing

To install them in version 7, choose the tool called paint brush, and open the Tool option box, by clicking O (not zero, but the letter). Then click on the little brush with an arrow on, in the right top corner of the little box:

Then you will see this option bar. Choose custom. Then, a box will open:

Choose Edit Paths. And a new window will open:

Leave the top one as it is, but the second you can change from being empty. Click on Browse, and choose the folder you put the brushes (like in "my documents/brushes" or what ever you called the folder you put the brushes in when you stored them).

PS: If the brushes are in a zip file:

you will have to unzip them first, or psp will not find them when you try to install. Simply right click on the file in the folder (not in psp, but open the folder you stored the brush zip file in), and choose "extract here".

Use the brushes

Now the brushes are installed, and you can use them by choosing the Paint Brush tool, open the Tool Option box (it's probably open from the last time you used it) and choose options. Now you can choose the brush you want:

Click on the layer you want to add the brushes to (I've chosen Layer 1).

And the result:
